Installation Note
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation of this patch is mandatory for systems which has the HP TCP/IP 
Services for OpenVMS Version 5.7 ECO 5 kit installed. This patch is not 
compatible with any other ECO releases of TCP/IP. Please note that the system 
must be rebooted after patch installation to make use of the new image(s).

        1.1 System crash in Telnet Server.

        Problem:

        In Telnet driver, there is an issue with respect to interrupt handling, 
        which could cause registry corruption and might lead to system crash.

        2.1 The command procedure to shut down a service might not terminate 
            all target processes.

        Problem:

        The shutdown command procedure provided for each service, might not 
        stop all the processes related to that service. For example, for NFS 
        Service, the procedure TCPIP$NFS_SHUTDOWN.COM sometimes doesn't 
        terminate the TCPIP$MOUNTD process, thus causing the MOUNT service to 
        fail during next restart. Similarly, the FTP shutdown procedure 
        TCPIP$FTP_SHUTDOWN.COM may not stop the FTP child processes for active 
        sessions.
